What is the Canadian National Debt Clock?

Today I will be covering briefly one of the hidden topics that are rarely discussed, and it's called "National Debt". When you think about debt at a national level, a lot of Canadians usually ask what does government spending has to do with me? Well, today I want to bring some light on this matter as it plays a more important role than most people actually think, and it can affect the country as a whole.
First, in Canada, we are one of the most highly taxed nations, and the reason stems from the debt, we are also one of the world's 5th most severely indebted nations. The debt from the government also carries a huge interest and government spending has been a way out of budgets which leads to borrowing more money. In order for the government to tackle this national problem, instead of figuring out how to fix it, they turn to their own country to see what can be increased and find ways to obtain money. This leads to more increases to our taxes, interest rates, devaluing our dollar, etc.
In the end, since the government cannot manage their spending issues, they will need to find other ways to tax us more on our hard-earned dollars, and on the other hand, politicians blame business and industry for lower productivity. The reason why I want to bring to light is there is not much we can do with the economy, but we can at least structure our finances better and make sure it's tax-advantaged so we can keep more of our hard-earned dollars for our family, not for the government.
